CP+D has recently completed a form-based zoning code for Downtown Crozet, Virginia. The recommendations are now under review by the Planning Commission and are expected to be adopted by Spring 2008.
CP+D, with SMBW Architects, has completed a public engagement program and implementation strategy for the North Jackson Ward Neighborhood. As part of this contract, Bay Area Economics completed a market feasibility study, providing important information about the mix of housing types and phasing of the redevelopment process.
The Crozet Avenue Streetscape Project, Phase 2 is now underway. This project is an essential step in achieving the goals of the Master Plan by improving pedestrian connectivity, providing economic benefits and increased vitality for business owners, balancing the needs of all users, and aesthetically enhancing the entry way and main thoroughfare of downtown. Construction is expected to begin in Late 2008.

Kenneth Schwartz, with Jim Tolbert and Wayne Cilimberg, will be presenting ‘A Collaborative Framework Plan’ at the American Planning Association's 2007 National Planning Conference in Philadelphia. The focus will be on the collaborative efforts of the City of Charlottesville, County of Albemarle, and University of Virginia in creating the Southern Urban Area B Framework Plan.
As part of the Boston Society of Architects lecture series, Maurice Cox will be speaking on “The Role of the Citizen Architect” at the Boston Public Library on February 21, 2007 at 6pm.
